Things already weren’t looking great for North Carolina Republican Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson’s chances in the race for governor. Democrats have pummeled him for months over his inflammatory rhetoric about women and abortion, and recent polls have shown him trailing Democratic Attorney General Josh Stein by anywhere from high single digits to double digits.

But damning stories out Thursday further imperil Robinson’s already slim hopes. CNN’s KFile reported that Robinson made posts on a pornography message board, calling himself a “black NAZI!” and saying he supported reinstating slavery. Robinson also allegedly made posts saying he enjoyed watching transgender porn — despite a litany of past comments opposing transgender rights — and had “peeped” on women in public gym showers when he was 14. Another story from Politico reported that Robinson had an account on Ashley Madison, a website where married people sought out affairs.

Despite evidence from CNN that the username on the posts was one Robinson frequently used and was tied to his personal email address, Robinson has denied making the posts and has claimed they were manufactured. The
