With so many potential challengers from both parties considering runs for the Senate, the overall picture is very murky. It will remain so until a number of decisions are made by potential candidates and those decisions become known. With the current Senate lineup 53 Republicans to 4 7 Democrats, theDemocrats need a net gain of four seats or more (a three-seat gain would create a tie in which Vice President Bush would break) to take control.
