RACE ANALYSIS
The Bottom Line
Updated: Feb 28, 2020
Wittman, a former employee of Virginia's Shellfish Sanitation Division, has passed up multiple opportunities to run for state office but has proven popular in this rural Tidewater seat. In 2016, a new court-ordered map added deeply conservative Hanover County to the 1st CD, further solidifying Wittman. He won by 10 points in 2018 and is safe in 2020.
