ELLZEY, Jake, a Representative from Texas; born in Potter County, Tex., January 24, 1970; graduated from Perryton High School, Perryton, Tex., 1988; B.S., United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md., 1992; United States Navy, 1992–2012; business executive; commercial pilot; member of the Texas veterans commission, 2012–2018; member of the Texas state house of representatives, 2021; unsuccessful candidate for nomination to the One Hundred Sixteenth Congress in 2018; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Seventeenth Congress, by special election, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of United States Representative Ron Wright (July 27, 2021–present).
