University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wis., 1983; lawyer, private practice; member
of the Wisconsin state assembly, 1993-2004; member of the Wisconsin state
senate, 2004-2014; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Fourteenth and to
the succeeding Congress (January 3, 2015-present).
