Scott, a Representative from Florida; born in Thomaston, Upson County, Ga., August 23, 1964; graduated from Lakeland High School, Lakeland, Fla., 1982; B.S., United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md., 1986; M.B.A., Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, Fla., 1994; attended the Air Command and Staff College, Montgomery, Ala.; United States Navy, 1986–2000; United States Navy Reserve, 2000–2012; insurance agency owner; commissioner, Lakeland, Fla., 2018–2021; Mayor pro tem, Lakeland, Fla., 2020; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Seventeenth Congress (January 3, 2021–present).
