RACE ANALYSIS
The Bottom Line
Updated: Jun 11, 2026
Solid Republican. Situated in the northwest Atlanta exurbs, the 11th District has steadily shed its deep-red hue, shifting from Trump +25 in 2016 to Trump +15 in 2020. It’s a testament to both the area’s growing diversity and how much the business-minded voters here have balked at the Republican Party’s push toward populism. Loudermilk, however, has consistently outrun Trump and beat his Democratic opponent by 25 points in 2022.
A disciplined economic conservative who quietly departed the Freedom Caucus in 2017, Loudermilk supports reforming Social Security and has called for the Internal Revenue Service to be dismantled in favor of a flat tax. But he may be better known for controversially asserting that “Pontius Pilate afforded more rights to Jesus than the Democrats have afforded this president” during Trump’s 2019 impeachment. Loudermilk is safe for now, but it’s not out of the question that this seat could enter the battlefield towards the end of the decade if current trends continue.
