Last updated : Nov 17, 2025Race summary
The 2nd District has been fairly safe for Republicans in recent years — in part due to Trump’s success with blue-collar voters along the Mississippi River, and in part due to Rep. Ashley Hinson’s strength. But Democrats, eager to win the competitive gubernatorial and Senate races in the state, are highly motivated to carry this now-open seat in northeast Iowa.Key Dates
