Tex., September 16, 1974; graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, San
Antonio, Tex., 1992; B.A., Stanford University, Stanford, Calif., 1996; J.D.,
Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass., 2000; lawyer, private practice; member of
the Texas state house of representatives, 2002-2012; elected as a Democrat to
the One Hundred Thirteenth and to the two succeeding Congresses (January 3,
2013-present).
