Full Bio:
Baker was raised in Needham, Massachusetts. He graduated from Harvard College and earned an MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
Baker began his career in public service by serving as secretary of Health in Human Services in 1992 under the Weld administration. In 1994, Baker was appointed secretary of Administration and Finance by then Governor Paul Cellucci.
Prior to being elected as governor, Baker served as chief executive officer of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care from 1999 to 2009 and served as an entrepreneur in residence at the venture capital firm General Catalyst Partners.
Baker and his wife Lauren live in Swampscott and have three children, Charlie, AJ and Caroline.
