Hondo College, Whittier, Calif.; B.A., National Labor College, Silver Spring,
Md., 2012; emergency 9-1-1 dispatcher; sales representative; member of Pomona,
Calif., city council, 2000-2006; Mayor of Pomona, Calif., 2006-2008; member of
the California state assembly, 2008-2013; member of the California state
senate, 2013-2014; elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Fourteenth and to
the succeeding Congress (January 3, 2015-present).
