The Cook Political Report is pleased to introduce our 2020 House district databook, a one-stop shop for statistics on demographics and recent election results in all 435 congressional districts. This sortable, downloadable table features each district's Cook Partisan Voter Index (PVI) score as well as 2018 House race results, 2016 presidential election results, racial breakdowns of all residents and the share of adults with at least a bachelor's degree.
In recent years, increasing shares of non-white residents and rising levels of educational attainment have been important predictors of Democratic vote growth, while Republicans have performed better in predominantly white districts with lower shares of college graduates. This resource is designed to illuminate why most districts are "solid" but several dozen remain at the top of each party's 2020 target list.
