IA-01: Abby Finkenauer (D) - Northeast: Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, Dubuque Toss Up. In 2018, Republicans panned the 29-year-old Finkenauer as an inexperienced liberal, but in a year of change, she raised $4.5 million and ousted GOP Rep. Rod Blum 51 percent to 46 percent. Now, Republicans are excited state Rep. Ashley Hinson, a former morning TV anchor who represents suburban Cedar Rapids, is running and could match up better against Finkenauer than Blum. She already had $299,000 on hand in June.
