Recent National polls show that party identification levels have stabilized with Democrats holding a 10-point advantage over the GOP, less than the 12-point spread of late winter more considerably wider than the three point difference of last summer. The President's job rating bas edged back up slightly although public attitudes on the direction of the country remain pessimistic.
