Colorado, Boulder, Colo., 1978; lawyer, private practice; member of the
Colorado state senate, 1995-2003, president pro tempore, 2001-2003; elected as
a Democrat to the One Hundred Tenth and to the five succeeding Congresses
(January 3, 2007-present).
