As Staff Writer, Matthew Klein contributes to The Cook Political Report's analysis of House, Senate and Governor races. He is also responsible for the upkeep of a variety of the website's core features, including its Race Pages, biweekly At-A-Glance, House Open Seats Chart and National House Vote Tracker. Born and raised in Maryland, Matthew earned his B.A. in Political Science from Emory University, where he published an undergraduate honors thesis on political party realignment in West Virginia. A film enthusiast, he joined The Cook Political Report in March 2022 and currently resides in Washington, D.C.
