In August, we wrote that the partisan playing field appeared to be "remarkably level." By October, though, it had taken on a "decided Democratic tilt," and then turned even more Democratic during November and December. At this point, Democrats' edge appears to have receded somewhat but whether or not the parties are back to parity remains to be seen. Regardless, the GOP's free-fall has ended.
