JACOBS, Chris, a Representative from New York; born in Buffalo, Erie County, N.Y., November 28, 1966; graduated from Canisius High School, Buffalo, N.Y., 1985; B.S., Boston College, Newton, Mass.; J.D., State University of New York at Buffalo, Buffalo, N.Y.; MBA, American University, Washington, D.C.; staff, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development; businessman; member, Buffalo Board of Education, 2004–2011; New York secretary of state, 2006–2007; Erie County, N.Y. clerk, 2012–2017; New York state senator, 2017–2020; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Sixteenth Congress, by special election, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of United States Representative Chris Collins, and reelected to the succeeding Congress (June 23, 2020–present).
