House Editor David Wasserman writes: How difficult was it to draw one line? After Idaho's bipartisan six-member commission failed to agree to new legislative and Congressional maps by an early September deadline, Idaho Secretary of State Ben Ysursa invoked a state law requiring a new commission to be formed. Democrats had pushed to unite all of Boise in one district, giving them more opportunity in one of the two districts. But on October 17, the new commission moved the traditional Boise dividing line a few precincts west, marginally shoring up GOP 1st CD Rep. Raul Labrador - if he can survive a primary. For GOP Rep. Mike Simpson, Idaho's newly closed primary isn't a done deal either.
